Map of Markgröningen

background

Markgröningen lies between Leudelsbach and Glems, which flows into the Enz in the Unterriexingen district. The former imperial city is known nationwide - especially because of the annual event on the last weekend in August Shepherd run and their stately late Gothic town hall (1441). Because of the town hall and numerous other half-timbered houses, Markgröningen was part of the German half-timbered street recorded.

The city is surrounded by three scenic valleys that are cut deep into the shell limestone and are partially protected. The largely car-free valley sections of Glems, Enz and Leudelsbach are ideal for local recreation and are also popular for jogging, walking and cycling. On the market square with its street cafes and an ice cream parlor, day trippers, hikers and cyclists like to make a stopover.

The districts belong to Markgröningen Unterriexingen and Talhausen as well as part of the hamlet Hardthof and Schönbühlhof, the Aichholzhof, the mills in Glemstal as well as some Aussiedlerhöfe and on Asperger Straße the area "Landesheim / Auf Hurst" with various health and welfare facilities.
