Middle Swabia - Mittelschwaben

Central Swabia is lying in BavarianAdministrative region of Swabia.

Regions

The Central Swabia region is bordered by the Danube in the north, the Iller in the west and the Allgäu in the south and extends in the east to the Lech. In the western part of this area lies the District of Neu-Ulm. This is followed by the district of Günzburg to the east, this region is also called Swabian baroque corner designated. To the right of the Mindel lies the Augsburg Nature Park - Western Forests in the district of Augsbug, it is divided into the Wooden angle in the north that Reischenau in the middle and the Perennials in the south. The Lechfeld between the rivers Wertach and Lech is also still part of Central Swabia. To the south you can see the border to Allgäu roughly along the A96.

  • The Balzheim sausage, which Memmingen is also called "Lutheran" because it was brought with them by Protestant religious refugees. It consists of 20% beef and 80% pork, which is minced as sausage meat with spices and filled into pork intestines.
