Motril is a city in the spanish province Granada and is the capital of Costa Tropical.

Between Motril and Salobreña is the valley of the Guadalfeo, which flows into the Mediterranean here. In addition to tomatoes and cucumbers, bananas, chirimoya, mango and other tropical fruits are grown here. Sugar cane was already available here during the time of the Moorish rule, but the last sugar factory was shut down in 2006.
