Nesselwang is a market town and a recognized climatic health resort in Allgäu at the foot of the Alpspitze (1575 m).

background

Strategically well located, the landscape has been a transit point since Roman times. In 1429 the place received market rights from King Sigismund.

Nesselwang borders on the Ostallgäuer Municipalities Backwood, Seeg, Eisenberg and Pfronten. More neighbors are Oy-Mittelberg and Wertach in the district Oberallgäu as well as the Austrian enclave Young wood.
