Neustadt am Kulm is lying in Upper Palatinate hill country and is the fourth smallest city with around 1,300 inhabitants Bavaria.

Neustadt is dominated by the 682 m high basalt cone of the Rough Kulm in the east, on the western edge of the town, lies the Little Kulm. The place received city rights in 1370 under Emperor Charles IV. Neustadt am Kulm, with around 850 inhabitants, has had 8 smaller districts since the municipal reform in 1972, and Neustadt has been part of the administrative community since 1978 Eschenbach.

Neustadt am Kulm
- 1 Trinity Church, New Gate 5. ev.-luth. City church, former monastery church of the Carmelite monastery destroyed in the Thirty Years War, rebuilt and restored from 1708. Baroque paintings on the ceiling and the choir arch, the altar and the pulpit are worth seeing.

- 2 Parish Church of St. Michael. , around 1750 with stucco decoration on the ceiling and choir, fresco paintings in the Rococo style.
Rough Kulm
3 The Rauhe Kulm is a 683 m high basalt cone that towers over the city by around 160 m. At its top there is a 25 m high observation tower, which in good weather allows a wide view of the Fichtel Mountains and the Franconian Alb. The mountain is part of the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park.
