Lower Lusatian Neisse - Niederlausitzer Neiße

The Lower Lusatian Neisse region is the part of Niederlausitz bordering on Poland. The region is particularly inviting for cyclists. On the Neisse itself and between the adjacent fields, meadows and scattered villages there are a number of beautiful bike paths.

Regions

The Lower Lusatian Neisse region can be divided into the following regions from north to south.

  • Bear Claw Heath - Forest and heathland south of Guben.
  • Jänschwalder Heide - Forest region north-east of Cottbus. It will gradually change profoundly as the Jänschwalde opencast mine progresses
  • Forster area - Landscape around the district town of Forst, characterized by fields and meadows.
  • Meadow ground - The Wiesengrund is rather sparsely populated and lies between Cottbus and Forst.
