Oberschleissheim is a city in Upper Bavaria in the north of Munich and known nationwide for its castle, the historic aircraft yard and the Olympic regatta course.

  • Schleissheim Palace was built as the summer residence of the Wittelsbach family. The entire system consists of the Old lock, the New lock, the Lustheim Palace and a sprawling one Castle Park.

  • The Oberschleissheim aircraft yard on the Oberschleißheim airfield shows an important part of the aviation collection of the Deutsches Museum on the historic airfield of the Royal Bavarian Air Force, built between 1912 and 1919;
Exhibits on the 7800 m2 exhibition area are z. E.g. more than 50 airplanes, helicopters, hang gliders and a real "EUROPA" rocket.
From the airfield sightseeing flights in historical aircraft types take place from time to time.

The extensive facility also serves as a leisure area for walking, skating and jogging, there is a swimming lake in the immediate vicinity, and a 500m long section in front of the regatta stands is also suitable for swimming.
