Olkusz is a historic city in the voivodeship Lesser Poland in the Krakow-Czestochowa Jura. The place is best known for its medieval old town, which grew rich in silver and zinc mining in the Middle Ages. The municipality of the same name (Gmina) consists of 19 villages.
