Arabian Peninsula or Arabian peninsula (in Arabicجزيرة العرب, Jazīrat al-ʿArab, ie "Peninsula (or Island) of the Arabs") is a subcontinental region of Middle East which to the north borders on Syrian desert, to the west with the Red Sea, to the south with the Indian Ocean and to the east with the Persian Gulf.

Characterized by vast and inhospitable deserts and an even greater extension of steppe lands, the Arabian Peninsula experiences a very limited rainfall regime, such as to classify the entire area as arid or semi-arid.

Geographical notes

The highest elevation of the entire peninsula is Jabal Nabi Shuʿabi 3760 m a.s.l. in Yemen northern.

The culture has a lot in common throughout the region: almost the entire population of the city is Muslim and speaks theArabic.
