Pfullendorf is a small town in Linzgau.
background
The city of Pfullendorf is located in the north of Linzgau between the Danube and Lake Constance. In 1220 the place was raised to a free imperial city by Emperor Friedrich II. From 1383 a guild constitution was in force in the city, which regulated the democratic election of the mayor. After the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 Pfullendorf came to the Grand Duchy of Baden. The city has been part of the Sigmaringen district since 1973, when Aach-Linz, Denkingen, Gaisweiler-Tautenbronn, Großstadelhofen, Mottschieß, Otterswang and Zell am Andelsbach were incorporated.
