Wieluń poviat lies in voivodeship of Lodz. Wieluń is the seat of the poviat authorities.

Characteristic

The Wieluń County within its present borders was created as a result of the administrative reform in 1999. The County is agricultural, agricultural land accounts for 84% of the County's area. The County includes:

rural communes: Biała, Czarnożyły, Konopnica, Mokrsko, Osjaków, Ostrówek, Pątnów, Skomlin and Wierzchlas,
city: Wieluń.

The poviat is located in the south-western part of the Łódź Province on the border with Opolskie Voivodeship and Silesian Voivodeship. It is situated on the border of the Polish Jury and the South-Greater Poland Lowlands. The relief is varied mainly due to the activity of the ice sheet, which partially covered the older Mesozoic rocks with a thick layer of sediment and formed the hills of the terminal moraine. The hydrographic axis of the district is Guardwhich forms a picturesque gorge valley known as the "Great Warta Arch".

Forests constitute 24% of the county's area. It covers the eastern and southern parts of the county Załęczański Landscape Park while in the northern part there is a fragment Miedzyrzecz Warta and Widawka Landscape Park. Both parks have a tourist infrastructure in the form of many centers, agritourism farms as well as cycling, water and walking routes (in total over 400 km). The Wieluń County is located in the historic Wieluń Land. An important communication route runs through the national road No. 8, which is part of the international route E75.

Raw materials - in the Wieluń County there is a part of a lignite deposit with a capacity of approx. 490 million tonnes. The deposit is called "Złoczew" and is located 20 km north of Wieluń, in the municipalities of: Ostrówek, Zloczew and Burzenin (on the border of Wieluń and Sieradz poviats). The field is initially planned to be exploited in the years 2025-2045. The extracted coal will be transported to the Bełchatów power plant. Transport to the power plant will most likely be via belt conveyors.

Leaving the city along a dirt road to the east, we cross the railway line and reach the junction with the asphalt road. About 0.5 km after the crossing, the trail passes the Widoradz stronghold. Then we go south to Ruda, pass the church and the sawmill, and after 0.6 km at the horse farm in Rychłocice, we turn right into a dirt road. We get to the village of Kadłub. In Kadłuba we pass the church and turn left along the lime road to Popowice. In Popowice, turn left, turn right after 100 m, to Józefów. From Józefów we turn right (west), 0.6 km right, and 50 m left, along a gravel road (west) towards Ożarów. In Ożarów, by the manor house, turn right to Mokrsko. Follow a dirt road (towards the south) to reach Krzyworzeka. Turn left along the asphalt road, next to the church, in front of the cemetery, and turn right along a dirt road to the village of Krajków.

At the end of the village, in the hamlet Górale, turn left (to the west) to Chotów. We turn right (to the south-east) through the village of Turów and we reach Wieluń.

Wierzchlasnext to the primary school, along the road leading to Olewin (north-east). Here, we turn left onto the (north) dirt road for about 1 km along the edge of the fields and then through the forest. After 1.5 km, at the forest inn, we cross the national road (Wrocław - Warsaw) and after approx. 1.5 km we reach the village Josephine. We turn right (east) into an asphalt road and, at the end of the village, turn left on a broken stone road through the fields to Nowa Wieś. 0.5 km beyond the village, at the intersection of asphalt roads, we turn right (to the south), after approx. 0.4 km we cross the national road again and continue through Raduczyce and at the end of the village, a left-diagonal turn into a dirt road. After about 0.5 km, the trail enters the forest and runs along the edge of the Warta valley, we pass the village Szyszczyna, then a village Cornfieldand we reach Old Village. We cross the asphalt road and after approx. 0.6 km we turn right (west) to the village Podchlew. At the crossroads, turn left (to the south) into an asphalt road (Osjaków-Krzeczów), after approx. 2 km, by the mill Swallow we turn right and along a forest road to the west, away from the Warta valley, after approx. 1.5 km we pass overgrown forest ponds on the left, leave the forest, pass a sand mine on the left, we reach Modlin. At the intersection, turn left into an asphalt road and after approx. 0.5 km in Kraszkowice we reach the intersection with the road (Wieluń - Działoszyn). At the intersection, we turn right, we pass the chapel on the islet of the road, and in the place where the road to Wieluń turns right, we turn left along the gravel road, leave the village and along a dirt road to the west, after 1 km the trail approaches the forest on the left, then along the edge, and after about 0.7 km we turn right into a rising dirt road. In the hamlet Aleksandrówkawe turn right and along a descending dirt road to an asphalt road, we turn left and w It will catch you at the junction with the Wieluń - Kamion road, turn right towards Wieluń.
