District Preveza lies in the region Epirus in the northwest of Greece. It borders the districts of Thesprotia in the north, Ioannina and Artia in the east. To the west is the coast of the Ionian Sea, to the south is the Gulf of Amvrakien.

- Preveza in the south on the coast of the Amvrakian Gulf

The main road is the N18, it comes from Igoumenitsa and goes along the coast to Preveza. From there, it goes through a tunnel under the strait from Preveza to Aktio in the region Aetolia-Acarnania and on towards Patras.
The region does not have rail connections. The nearest regional airport is Aktio Airport
