In Poland the list of long-distance cycle routes is growing steadily and existing routes are being expanded. The long-distance cycle routes are marked with R-1, R-1a, R-1b, R-3, R-4, R-4a, R-4b, R-4c, R-4d and R-4e according to the specifications of the PTTK, the Polish equivalent of the Alpine Club, numbered and shown in green, blue, yellow, red or black.

Travel time
The best time to cycle in Poland is from spring to autumn. It can get pretty hot in the summer months. It can be cheap to cycle in shady avenues in Masuria or in cooling waters.

It is not a problem to enter or leave the EU border crossings by bike.
Food supply
Smaller and larger shops are everywhere in the country and thus the grocery shopping is guaranteed. Almost all of the smaller shops are also open on Sundays. Supermarkets have to close on some Sundays. Restaurants are almost everywhere.
Legal
- Refrain from alcohol entirely (zero per mille).
- In Poland people drive on the right.
- Cyclists on pedestrian cycle paths must show consideration for pedestrians.
Recommendable
- Use a bicycle helmet.
- Check the bike: lights, reflectors / cat's eyes red and yellow, brakes; Wear light-reflecting clothes and sturdy shoes.
- Be careful at level crossings, especially if there are no barriers!
