Ramspau is a village located on the rain, which as a district to Regenstauf heard in the BavarianUpper Palatinate.
background
The village Ramspau was added to the parish in 1978 Regenstauf incorporated; it consists of two districts on both sides of the river Regen, on the right bank (Gross-) Ramspau around the castle and the parish church, on the left bank of the district Kleinramspau.
The place was first mentioned as "Randesbure" in 1011, in the Middle Ages there was a castle here, which was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Today's Ramspau Castle was built in 1694 using the stones of the castle as building material and dominates the townscape with its four round towers with onion domes.
In 2011 the "Golddorf" celebrated its 1000th anniversary.
