Rheda-Wiedenbrück is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia. The two districts of Rheda and Wiedenbrück are roughly separated by the course of the A2, but merge into one another.
background
The city of Rheda-Wiedenbrück emerged from the amalgamation of the cities of Rheda and Wiedenbrück in 1970, with the surrounding villages of Batenhorst, Lintel and St. Vit also being incorporated. The origins of the cities are probably in the 8th century for Wiedenbrück and in the 11th century for Rheda.
