Riva del Garda is a city in Northern Italy. It is located on the north shore of the largest lake in the country, the Lake garda. The lake promenade is one of the most beautiful and elegant. Riva is an important junction from which various roads start. The most important are those after Trento (Trento), which run through the beautiful valley of the Sacra river and that of Ponale.

The closest airport is Valerio Catullo Airport in Verona.

By train

The closest train station is in Rovereto, about 20 km away. From there there is a bus that goes to Riva del Garda via Torbole.

Brenner motorway A22 south, exit "Rovereto sud - Lago di Garda nord"; after the toll booth on the state road SS240, past Mori and Loppio, drive towards Nago. At the large roundabout in Nago, take the exit towards Torbole. Go downhill to Torbole. Once there, take the first exit at the roundabout towards Riva del Garda. Follow the road for about 2 km. After passing the road tunnel under Monte Brione, you will reach the entrance to Riva.

Tourist Attractions

The most impressive way to visit the city is on Piazza III November start with a view of the lake. It is surrounded by ports from the 14th century, all built by Guglielmo de Frissoni da Como.

  • Inviolata Church. This church is probably the most beautiful building in Riva. It was built in 1611 at the request of Gaudenzio Mandruzzo, the governor of Rivas and Arcos. The crucifix with the Madonna on the main altar on the left is worth seeing.

  • Varone waterfall, to the west of the village of Varone (about 4 km from Riva), the water of Lake Tenno plunges through a rocky gorge 98 m into the depth.
