Saint-Pol-de-Léon is a small town in the Brittany.

Saint-Pol (Breton: Fort Paol) was one of the episcopal see in Brittany from the sixth century AD until 1790. After the French Revolution, it became deserted as a result of the loss of its religious function. In 1847 Gustave Flaubert described it as a “dead city”. With the creation of a rail connection in 1883, it revived and developed into the leading vegetable export port.
