Eurovelo signs with correct logo in Belgium

The cycle route network EuroVelo is a project of the European Cyclists Association ECF. By 2020, around 70,000 km of long-distance cycle paths are to be designated in Europe. Currently, 15 international routes through Europe have been named and partially implemented. So often not yet continuously passable. The project is co-financed by the EU under the heading Sustainable Tourism. The routes mostly use existing paths (e.g. Danube Cycle Path) and have a superordinate number that follows the abbreviation EV. In addition, the routes have their own English name.

The routes may be signposted differently in the respective countries. Most of the network currently does not have its own EuroVelo signage. The website, which was redesigned in April 2013, gives an overview of the development status of the individual routes.
