The high urban expansion in the narrow area between the sea and the hills does not allow an easy reading of the town limits. The city enjoys a particularly benign climate, with mild winters (about 7 ° C of seasonal average) and hot but not sultry summers (about 23 ° C of seasonal average).

How to keep in touch

Around

  • The Piceno it is a wonderful land but not known as it deserves. In addition to the more noble San Benedetto del Tronto there are, first of all, the other towns of the Riviera delle Palme Picena, the neighbors Grottammare is Cupra Marittima, which, in addition to the sea and the beach, for those who want to enjoy a bit of relaxation and tranquility away from the "chaos" of the larger neighbor, have two splendid medieval villages, in particular Grottammare (not surprisingly defined as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy). The ancient village of Grottammare, in addition to being a jewel from a historical and artistic point of view, offers a splendid panorama of the Picena and Sambenedettese coasts. Very interesting is also the ancient village of Cupra where you can admire the remains of the ancient castle and the ruins of the ancient Roman Cupra. The beautiful Picena countryside is dotted with small and beautiful medieval villages such as Castignano, Offida, Acquaviva Picena, Acquasanta Terme, just to name a few, which are like many small treasures of art and history to be discovered, in addition to the numerous historical and food and wine events that they offer, especially in summer, such as, for example, the Passatella of Ripatransone or the known Templaria Festival of Castignano. The flagship from a historical and artistic point of view is the splendid Ascoli Piceno, the capital of the province with its beautiful Piazza del Popolo (called the Living room of Italy) and its medieval artistic beauties, its museums and the important remains of the Roman Ascolum. On the border with the region Umbria there is, for mountain and hiking enthusiasts, the Monti Sibillini National Park, a protected area that protects the massif of Sibillini Mountains.
  • Riviera of the Palms - Riviera delle Palme is a tourist denomination that identifies that stretch of the Marche coast that goes from Cupra Marittima to the river Tronto, passing through Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto, characterized by the presence of thousands of palm trees.
