Schkeuditz is a city in northwest of Leipzig in the Leipzig lowland bay.

Schkeuditz lies between Leipzig in the southeast and Hall in the north-west. Schkeuditz is best known as the location of Leipzig-Halle Airport, which is located north of the city, and for the Schkeuditzer Kreuz, Germany's first motorway junction.

Since the terminal building is on the side of the airport facing away from the city, it is about 8 km on the road. There is hardly any public transport, only on weekdays bus 207 runs from the town center and Schkeuditz train station via the airport (and on to Delitzsch). With the S-Bahn a change in Halle Hbf or Leipzig Hbf would be necessary.

Schkeuditz is on the S-Bahn line S 3 to Leipzig and in the other direction to Halle. The Schkeuditz stop is around 600 meters north of the city center. Another traffic stop, Schkeuditz West, is to the west on the edge of the industrial park.

Valuable interior with artistically painted canvas wallpaper in gouache technique in the Belle Etage (carefully restored in recent years), elaborate stucco on the ceiling, antique furniture. The landowner August Apel wrote the novella The Freischütz, which Carl Maria von Weber used as the basis for his opera of the same name.
