The town Schneeberg (Ore Mountains) lies in the densely populated region of the city union Silberberg in the Western Ore Mountains. The city center is located on the 470 m high Schneeberg of the same name. The town owes its existence to mining: on February 6, 1471, the St. Georg colliery was excavated, and in 1481 Schneeberg received town justice. Schneeberg was a Bundeswehr base until the beginning of 2008.

In the street

From direction Chemnitz if you leave the A 72 at the exit Hartenstein. If you are coming from Bavaria on the A 72, take the exit Zwickau East down, then via Wildenfels and in Wiesenburg onto the B 93, which leads into the city. The B 169, which also leads over Schneeberg, connects Aue with the Vogtland. Both B 93 and B 169 are part of Silberstraße.

By train

The next train station is in Auewhere regional trains from Chemnitz and Zwickau stop. There you have to change to the bus.
