Scurano is a denomination that indicates more than just the country (once called Market), also all the small nuclei of a few houses that dot the slopes of the valley: Quinzo, Canale, La Chiastra, Corchio, Noceto, Pozzuolo, Formiano, Costola, Sarignana, Ariolla and many others. Several of these agglomerations consist of stone houses, some ancient and real strong houses, with turrets and defense walls and insertion of decorative architectural elements, such as small arcades with columns always in stone.

What see
- 1 Pieve - Parish church of San Cassiano Martire. It is built of sandstone, with the classic shape of a gable roof. The building has three naves with side chapels. On some pillars it preserves representations of Saints, among which Sant'Antonio Abate and Santa Rita can be recognized. The high bell tower, in contrast with the contained structure of the church, is a recent nineteenth-century construction.

A fenced wooded summit is home to many animal species, especially fallow deer, but also deer and other mountain fauna, which approach the enclosures towards dusk when staff provide them with food.
