activities

  • City tours. Information on the city tours can be obtained from the tourist information in the basement of the Citizens and Administration Center.
  • Hikes in the Stavenhagen area. In and around Stavenhagen there are many ways to stretch your legs. The typical Mecklenburg villages are always worth seeing. Ivenack, Klockow, Kummerow, Kittendorf are just a few examples. The wooded area around Ivenack is particularly recommended. In addition to the 1000 year old oak trees in Ivenacker Park, there is also the so-called "black hole", a wooded area with small ponds. This can be found on the right-hand side from Stavenhagen to Ivenack in the S-curve behind the star box - be careful! :-)
A little further away is at Malchin the "Benz", the Ostpeene nature reserve. Here you can relax and unwind, surrounded by the forest and the small river Peene. You can approach it by car by driving in the direction of Malchin and just before it Malchin turn left towards Duckow or Pinnow. You drive through Duckow and at the end of the village of Pinnow you can park your vehicle and walk towards Peene. The area is well signposted.
In the other direction I can stroll comfortably on the east side of the Kummoerower See. Between the towns Meesiger and Forgive A nature trail was set up, which provides verbal and visual insight into the formation of the landscape and flora and fauna. Meesiger can be reached on the B194 towards Demmin, from which you turn left after Basepohl Grief and from there continues to the destination.
  • Bike tours through the Mecklenburg Switzerland. The tourist information has bike touring maps that describe beautiful bike tours through Mecklenburg Switzerland.
The wooded river landscape of the Peene in the Ostpeene nature reserve (see above) is particularly beautiful. A round trip from Stavenhagen via Pribbenow, Rottmanshagen, Pinnow, nature reserve, Duckow, Scharpzow and Gülzow back to Stavenhagen is about 25 km long. This tour is particularly attractive when the rape is in bloom in May!
A shorter route goes to Lake Ivenacker. It is about 15 km long, leads mainly through the forest and circles the Ivenacker See. In Ivenack you also pass the historic castle and the newly renovated village church. The Ivenacker Park with its natural history exhibition should of course not be missing!
  • Canoe trips on the Peene. In Malchin there is a canoe club that also rents canoes at fair prices. From Malchin you can reach it after some paddling work Demmin, its great St. Bartholomew-Church made of brick can be seen from afar and therefore also serves as a good orientation.
