- After the Congress of Vienna from 1815 to 1920 (Versailles Peace Treaty), the "Saarpfalz" belonged to the Bavarian Palatinate; These areas still belong to the Catholic Diocese of Speyer and the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate.
- Most of the remaining areas belonged to the Prussian province Rhineland, partly to smaller territories (Birkenfeld, Lichtenberg).
