Telč (Teltsch) is a city in Moravian Highlands. The historic city center in Renaissance and Baroque styles was declared an urban monument reserve in 1970 and added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.
background
Telsch was first mentioned in 1207 at the intersection of important roads between Bohemia, Moravia and Austria. The place received city rights at the end of the 13th century. The historic city center was repeatedly the backdrop for film and television recordings, among others. Woyzeck by Werner Herzog (1978).
