Tiszafüred, which lies in Hungary east on the Tisza lake and near the Hortobágy National Park is a place first mentioned at the end of the 13th century under the name Fyred.

The turbulent times of the Middle Ages could not stop at Tiszafüred either, only around 1744 did an upswing return, when the limited one City rights was granted by Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria.
