Trashigang (བཀྲ་ ཤིས་ སྒང་ ། o Tashigang) is a city of Eastern Bhutan.

To know

Trashigang is the largest city in the eastern region and a base for tourists who venture to the surrounding villages and mountains. It was once the center of an important trade route with the Tibet.

Traditional architecture and narrow streets give the town a quaint and welcoming feel, not unlike a fishing village Italian or of Cornwall.

By plane

L'Yongphulla airport was officially opened to domestic flights in December 2011. Flights are operated by Drukair is Tashi Air to Paro, although due to runway regulatory requirements and poor financial results, most flights have been suspended. Check individual airlines for up-to-date information.

By car

The southern road from Thimphu passes through Phuentsholing, where you will have to arrange a private transport for Samdrup Jongkhar, as there are no buses on this route. District Court
