activities

Weißwasser was a stronghold in ice hockey in the GDR. The club from Upper Lusatia received 25 championship honors. The games for the GDR championship were played between Weißwasser and the predecessor club of the Eisbären Berlin, as there were only two ice hockey clubs in the GDR. Two ice rinks existed in the city for a long time from this time. On the one hand it was the ice rink and on the other hand the open-air stadium. After the demolition of both stadiums, a modern, small ice rink was built in the area of the open-air stadium, in which up to 3,000 spectators can watch the home games of the Lausitzer Füchse.
