Zushi is a city of Kantō.
To know
Zushi is located about an hour by train south of Tokyo. It is often visited for its beaches, marina and summer events. Although it has some historical temples and scenery similar to the neighbor Kamakura, it is less touristy.
How to orient yourself
Neighborhoods
- 1 Kotsubo - small fishing village overlooking the Mount Fuji and in summer famous for the Ayu Festival.
How to get
On the train
- 1 Zushi Station (逗 子 駅 Zushi-eki). JR train station of the Yokosuka line with trains coming from Tokyo (60-65 min) and the Shonan Shinjuku line with trains leaving from Shinjuku (59 min). But be careful because only some of the Shonan Shinjuku trains go to Zushi, others go to Odawara.
- 2 Shinzushi Station (新 逗 子 駅 Shinzushi-eki). Keikyu private company station along the line Keihin Kyuko with trains from Shinagawa (47 min).
How to get around
There are many buses, but the beach and shopping areas are within walking distance. Some of the best parks and temples are in the hills and a bit far unless you want to take a nice walk.
By taxi
Taxis are very present.

Shopping

How to have fun
There are a number of bars near the station (izakaya, western bars and wine bars). Most are visited with friends or small groups, rather than singles. Some have a beach vibe and are popular with visitors.
From late June to August, the beach is filled with various beach houses and bars, with various themes and music.
Where to eat
There are a number of non-chain restaurants near the station. Above all, compared to other Japanese cities of this size, there are several local seafood places, Italian restaurants and small restaurants with "natural food".
