Geographical notes
Between Lazio to the west and to the north, Teramo is Vestina East, Marsica is Peligna-Alto Sangro Valley to the south, the territory ofAbruzzo Apennines that gravitates on the city ofEagle it is underlined by the imposing peaks of the Gran Sasso (2,912 m. il Great Horn), Monte Sirente (2,349 m) and the mountains between Le Serre (1,590) and Torrecane 1576) immediately beyond the Rieti border in Lazio.

What see
- Abbey of Santa Maria di Collemaggio (toEagle). One of the symbols of the city and one of the most beautiful churches in the region; severely damaged by the earthquake, it is undergoing massive recovery works.
- Strong Spanish (toEagle). A mighty sixteenth-century fortress, it houses the National Museum of Abruzzo
- Church of San Bernardino (toEagle). Erected in the fifteenth century, it dominates from a high staircase; admirably recovered after the damage of the earthquake, it is once again accessible.
- Church of Santa Maria (to Bominaco). Romanesque construction of great interest, it dates back to between the 11th and 12th centuries, preserves capitals, ambo, ciborium, Easter candelabrum.
- Church of San Pellegrino (to Bominaco). It was built in 1263 in Romanesque style with a three-arched portico; the interior is completely covered with Byzantine frescoes.
What to do
Skiing and winter sports a Campo Imperatore. To Assergi there are ski lifts that lead to Campo Imperatore.
