Chao Phraya Basin is a region of the Central Thailand.

The Chao Phraya Basin forms the southern part of the Central Plains, and is the historical heart of the Thailand, mainly visited for Ayutthaya and the archaeological sites of Lopburi.

- Ang Thong (อ่างทอง) - There is one of the tallest statues in the world, a 92-meter statue of the Buddha.
- Ayutthaya (พระนครศรีอยุธยา) - An ancient capital declared byUNESCO world Heritage.
- Bang Pa-In (บางปะอิน) - There is a beautiful Royal Palace also known as the Summer Palace.
- Bangkok (กรุงเทพมหานคร) - The capital of the country, extremely lively, hectic and polluted.
- Chainat (ชัยนาท) - Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
- Dan Chang (ด่านช้าง) - There is the Phu Toei National Park.
- Lopburi (ลพบุรี) - Near the train station is the Prang Sam Yot temple, a Hindu temple built in the Khmer style.
- Nakhon Nayok (นครนายก) - Nakhon Nayok is renowned for its refreshing waterfalls and abundant fruit varieties.
- Nonthaburi (เมือง น นท บุ ร) - The proximity to the capital Bangkok (~ 20 km), has made Nonthaburi a suburb of the Southeast Asian metropolis.

- Saraburi (สระบุรี) - Located about 130 km north of Bangkok.
- Sing Buri (สิงห์บุรี) - There are numerous temples in the area.
- Suphanburi (สุพรรณบุรี) - Capital of the homonymous province.
