getting there
- Bad Berleburg is the terminus of the RothaarbahnRB 93 (Bad Berleburg - Erndtebrück - Kreuztal - Wins - Betzdorf. This is done by the Hessische Landesbahn, area Dreiländerbahn operated. The tariff applies Verkehrsgemeinschaft Westfalen-Süd.
- The city is crossed by the federal highway 480, which after Winterberg and Erndtebrück leads.
- The Eder cycle path leads through the Raumland district
- The nearest airport is that Airport Paderborn / Lippstadt.

In the "Dorfgemeinde" Bad Berleburg there are a number of small museums, which of course only have limited opening times.
- 1 Berleburg Castle. In the museum: hunting equipment, uniforms, weapons, glasses, porcelain and parts of the princely art collection. In the run-up to Christmas you can visit some of the privately inhabited rooms, which are decorated with beautiful Christmas trees.
- 2 Wisent adventure exhibition, In the Landratsvilla, an outbuilding of the town hall. Tel.: (0)2751 920 55-35. Exhibition on the bison reintroduction project in Wittgenstein Land by Richard Prince zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. The adventure exhibition traces the path of the bison from its birth in evolution to the reintroduction project in the Rothaar Mountains. Incidentally, the 8 bisons in the project were released from their 88 hectare enclosure in April 2013. The shy animals pose no danger to humans. The herd was also trained by the project's rangers to withdraw if they come into contact with people in the woods and meadows.Open: Tue and Wed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every 1st Sunday of the month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (on Sundays when shopping). For groups, separate appointments outside of the opening times can be arranged on request (Carrier Association Wisent-Welt-Wittgenstein e.V.Price: Free entry.
- 3 Arfeld Blacksmith Museum, Arfetalstrasse 13. Open: April to October: every 1st and 3rd Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and by appointment.
