Bad Zwischenahn is a state-approved health resort on the south bank of the Zwischenahner Meeres in the Ammerland. In addition to the core city, the municipality includes the villages of Aschhausen, Dänikhorst, Ekern, Elmendorf, Helle, Kayhausen, Kayhauserfeld, Ofen, Ohrwege, Petersfehn, Rostrup, Specken, Wehnen and Westerholtsfelde.

The Bremen Airport
(IATA: BRE) is the closest international airport, and the more distant airports in Munster Osnabrück(IATA: FMO) and Hanover Airport(IATA: HAJ) for arrival.
The one approved for glider pilots and motor sailers is located in the Rostrup district Rostrup airfield on the site of the former Zwischenahn air base.
By train
Bad Zwischenahn is on the railway line between Oldenburg and Empty. The ICs, among other things, keep track of this North dike pier or towards Bremen, as well as regional trains on this route.
Bad Zwischenahn is also the terminus of the RS3 line of the Bremen / Lower Saxony regional S-Bahn.

Parks and gardens
A specialty in Ammerland are the rhododendron parks, some of which are in private, but also in public gardens in Bad Zwischenahn. The center of rhododendron breeding is the neighboring one Westerstede.
