The Baunatal circular route is a 30 km long cycle path in and around the city and municipality Baunatalthat are in the northern area of the Chattengaus lies. Baunatal is a city of around 27,000 inhabitants in North Hesse South from kassel. It was created on January 1, 1964 through the merger of the formerly independent communities Altenbauna, Altenritte, Kirchbauna, Großenritte, Hertingshausen, Rengershausen and Guntershausen (Buchenhagen) as a result of the establishment of a Volkswagen AG plant in 1957.

Rengershausen - Baunsberg - Großenritte (13 km)
A possible starting point for the Baunatal circular route is the Rengershausen train station (Lines RT5, R38 and RE98), from which one drives over the street Zum Felsengarten to Rengershausen. Shortly after entering the town, you come to the left from the street Imgrund 1 
Junction to the train station (Line 64) also the Baunatal Rundweg, on which one now passes the cemetery until shortly before the Community house (Line 64) moves. Here you keep slightly to the right and cycle downhill and drive past the community center and the voluntary fire brigade before turning right and up Knallhütter Straße Knallhütte drives (Hütt brewery with guest house). Arrived at this then left past this and a piece along the federal highway 49, before you drive under it and follow the course of the Fasanenweg. Over the Gerhard-Fieseler-Weg you come to an underpass (cyclists get off) and drive on the other side of the railway line kassel-Naumburg on the Ulmenstraße along this a bit and then on the Lindenallee on the Birch avenue (Line 60) past slightly uphill. Before the road becomes wider, the Baunatal circular path turns right and runs past a playground on gravel paths slightly uphill to the edge of the forest 2 Hessencourrierradweg . Both cycle routes initially lead a little bit together along the edge of the forest before the Baunatal circular path turns sharply to the left into the forest. On easy-to-drive gravel farm roads, you usually cycle slightly uphill towards the federal motorway 44 and then along a wilderness fence to the 3 Baunsberg hiking car park, the highest point of the Baunatal circular route. From now on it goes barely noticeably over gravel forest roads through the forest downhill to the first houses of Altenritte, where you turn right and come to Wilhelmshöher Straße, which you turn left to 4 Finkenstrasse stopFinkenstrasse (Lines 51 and 53) follows. Before this bus stop, turn right into Hessenbergstrasse and take gentle curves, soon down Hirzsteinstrasse into the Bauna valley. At the end of Hirzsteinstrasse, turn right and cycle through the fields to the bypass road and across the Bauna. At a refuge in a curve, turn left and come off the Landesstraße 3218 and Naumburger Straße in the 5 Center of Altenritte into it. Behind the fire brigade, turn left into Ritterstraße and then left again, so that you continue on an asphalt farm road along the Lützel. Cross under Landesstraße 3218 and then turn right to the Lützelhof, where you continue to cycle on paved farm roads to the left and then right again. Finally you drive straight ahead over a long straight, cross the Kreisstraße 22 and the 6 Railway line of Hessencourriers (kassel-Naumburg). You now drive a little bit together with that Hessencourrierradweg, but then turn left and cycle through a depression in which you also cross the Leisel and continue over 1 paved farm roads from which one always has beautiful views over Großenritte and quite Baunatal Has. After a while you meet the at the edge of the forest Kassel-Steig, nearby is also the Gertrudenstift (Line 61), and continue along the edge of the forest on the road in front of the castle. On a notice board of the Kassel-Steigs then branch off to the left and drive comfortably downhill on an asphalt farm road to the Kulturhalle in Großenritte, where the 2 Culture hall (Line 61) is located.
Großenritte - Hertingshausen - Rengershausen (17 km)
Of the Culture hall (Line 61) you cycle on the street Am Mühlengraben to the exit of Großenritte on Niedensteiner Straße. This is crossed and you drive on the other side on the outskirts through a park-like facility with individual play equipment, at the end of which you continue along Besser Straße to Schulze-Delitzsch-Straße. Here you turn right and ride on a separate bike path along with the Chattengauweg along the state road to 3 Sonnenhofat whom one crosses it. It continues now on easily navigable asphalt farm roads through the northern Chattengau in several curves, including through a small forest until you reach the 4 Hessian traffic training area reached. You drive past this under large trees, carefully cross the district road 22 via the pedestrian island and reach along with the Eco path cultural history Hertingshausen and Kirchbauna the Baunataler Hertingshausen district, which you cycle through on small footpaths and bike paths and the Neckarweg. Via an asphalt farm road, you get back to Wolfsburger Straße and some of the halls of the Volkswagen plant, turn right into these and come to Guntershäuser Straße, where the Buchenhagen desert is also located. Now you drive along the Guntershäuser Straße on a separate footpath and bike path to the 8 Waterworks (Lines 50, 63 and 64), where you cross Guntershäuser Straße and immediately afterwards turn right into a wood. You are now on an asphalt farm road, which you follow to Rengershausen. In Rengershausen itself, you cycle on the Triftweg again to Guntershäuser Straße, then turn right and immediately left again into Dorothea-Viehmann-Straße. Past the kindergarten (Line 64) you come to Andersenstrasse, cross it diagonally and continue on the street Basically on the street of the same name Basically (Line 64) past to the street Am Felsengarten, where the Junction to the train station (Line 64) is located. From here it is not far to the Rengershausen train station, which can be reached again after 30 km via the Am Felsengarten road.
