- The 3 Giant stone from Guntershausen is a pre-Christian megalithic monument in the Guntershausen district. The menhir was made in the 3rd millennium BC. Set up on a barrow by people of the early peasant culture. It is the smallest known menhir in the Kassel-Fritzlar distribution area. The molar-tooth-shaped quartzite block with conspicuous cup-shaped depressions on its surface was the center of a place of worship, sacrificial site or festival site. The menhir was not artificially hewn, but received its current shape through the effects of weathering. The stone was chosen for ritual purposes because of its two bowls on top, an artificial sacrificial trough and the numerous bowls.[1]
