Bretzfeld is a parish on the western edge of the Hohenloher level.

Bretzfeld is located in the valley of the Brettach, which in the Mainhardter Forest rises and with Neuenstadt flows into the cooker. In addition to the core town, the formerly independent communities of Adolzfurt, Bitzfeld, Dimbach, Geddelsbach, Rappach, Scheppach, Schwabbach, Siebeneich, Unterheimbach and Waldbach as well as the hamlet of Brettach belong to the municipality of Bretzfeld.
