Geographical notes
Carbonia is located in the historical subregion of Sulcis and borders on Gonnesa, Iglesias, Narcao, Perdaxius, Portoscuso, San Giovanni Suergiu is Tratalias. In the province of Cagliari until 2005, then in that of Carbonia-Iglesias from 2005 to 2016, since 2016 it has been the capital of the province of Southern Sardinia.

- From Cagliari take the State Road 130 Iglesiente, then the Provincial Road 2 called "Pedemontana" which also connects Portoscuso is Villamassargia.
