Chub is after Grimma the second largest city of Central Saxon hill country, it lies in the valley of the Freiberg Mulde.

getting there

By train

Chub is a railway junction, because this is where the lines meet (Berlin–)RiesaChemnitz and (Dresden – Meißen) -Leipzig; the latter, however, is only served from the direction of Leipzig. There are hourly direct regional connections from Riesa (22 minutes), Chemnitz (35 minutes) and Leipzig (1:10 hours). In Riesa and Leipzig, the transition from long-distance traffic is possible.

By bus

From the direction of Dresden you have to take the bus since the railway line was closed Nossen (every hour with line 424 Dresden – Nossen, then continue with line 750 Nossen – Döbeln), which takes 1:40 hours from Dresden Hbf (despite a distance of just 50 km).

Döbeln is conveniently located on the A 14 LeipzigDresden and has two runs: Symbol: AS 34 Döbeln-Nord and Symbol: AS 35 Chub-East. The Döbeln-Nord exit (coming from Leipzig) leads to the B 169 RiesaChemnitzwho bypasses chub in the west. The Döbeln-Ost exit (coming from Dresden) leads to the B 175 NossenRochlitz. This federal road runs directly through the city.

By bicycle

Döbeln is on the eastern (i.e. Freiberger) branch of the Muldental cycle path as well as at the end of the Zschopautal cycle path. The Döbeln-Elbe-Radroute provides a connection from Elbe cycle path here. On the Muldental cycle path it is approx. 43 km from Freiberg to Döbeln and 49 km from Grimma. The distance from Mittweida to Döbeln via the Zschopautal cycle path is approx. 30 km, from Chemnitz 62 km. From Meißen it is about 37 km to Döbeln via the Döbeln-Elbe cycle route, and 64 km from Dresden.

In the city center, all destinations are within walking distance. There are also four city bus routes from Regiobus Middle Saxony GmbH, all four stop at the main train station and the bus station in the old town. A car, regional train or bicycle is recommended for excursions in the area. Most regional bus routes only run sporadically.
