The small town Quietly is located at 161 m on the Freiberger Mulde, about midway between Chub and Grimma. The most important attraction is the Mildenstein Castle. Leisnig had been in the possession of the Counts of Groitzsch since 1081. It was bought by Emperor Friedrich I around 1157 and appointed burgraves here, who did not become extinct in the male line until 1538, but left their castle to Meissen as early as 1365.

Leisnig can be reached via the autobahn exit of the A 14 Leipzig – Dresden. The motorway exit is 8 km north of the city. Federal highways 175 run about the same distance south of Leisnig ChubHarthaRochlitz and 176 HarthaColditz.

The railway line LeipzigMeissen is at least every hour between Leipzig and Nossen served every two hours from / to Meißen. In Meißen there are transfer options from / to the Dresden S-Bahn. The is suitable for the cyclist Muldental cycle path for arrival.

  • Chub (19 km east, S 34) - very nice city center: renovated because the flood in 2002 was up to 2 m in the city; very nice theater. Two marketplaces and a historic tram.
  • Grimma (22 km northwest, S 36 / S 38) - the second largest city in the Central Saxon hill country particularly awaits you with its historic old town, which was completely renovated after the floods in 2002. If you are in a hurry, use the A 14.
