The place Wermsdorf is located on the southern edge of the Wermsdorf Forest, which extends to the Dahlen Heath connects. The most important sight is the large baroque palace Hubertusburg. Wermsdorf is also the starting point for hikes to the Collmberg.
getting there
By train
Wermsdorf itself has no rail connection. The nearest train station is 9 kilometers to the north Dahlen (RE line Leipzig – Dresden). Since there is only sporadic bus traffic between Dahlen and Wermsdorf, the journey is usually via the train station on the same line Oschatz cheaper, from which there is an hourly bus connection to Wermsdorf. It takes 1:20 hours to get there from Leipzig with one change, and a good two hours from Dresden.
By bus
The “PlusBus” line 630 runs every hour on weekdays, seven times a day on Saturdays and four times a day on Sundays from Grimma to Wermsdorf. The journey takes three quarters of an hour.
In the street
The driver drives from the directions Leipzig and Dresden on the A 14 to the exit Mutzschen. From there it is 8 kilometers to Wermsdorf (signposted). Alternatively, you can take one of the branches to Wermsdorf from the parallel B 6 between Wurzen and Oschatz (6 or 11 kilometers). From Leipzig it is approx. 50 kilometers, for which you need about 40 minutes driving time, from Dresden it is 80 kilometers, you drive just under an hour.

The 1 Hubertusburg Castle
, the largest castle in Saxony, was built by August the Strong as a hunting lodge. There is a castle museum in the castle.
The second Hunting lodge von Wermsdorf is older and lost its importance with the construction of the Hubertusburg.

The 313 m high can be reached via the Wermsdorf Forest Collmberg with observation tower. The next bigger places in the area are:
- Dahlen (10 km north) - the gateway to the Dahlener Heide; Local history museum and town church Our dear women.
