Tightness is a small town in Hegau and lies at the foot of the Hohenhewen volcanic cone.

background

Engen was founded in the 11th century and has had city rights since the 13th century. The well-preserved old town of Engen has been a listed building since 1977. Since the municipal reform around 1975, the formerly independent villages Anselfingen, Zimmerholz, Bargen (Engen), Welschingen, Biesendorf, Stetten (Engen), Bittelbrunn and Neuhausen (Engen) as well as a few other hamlets and farms have belonged to the town of Engen.
