The community Eschelbronn is located in the northern Kraichgau in the Neckartal-Odenwald nature park at an altitude of 150 to 265 meters, about 25 kilometers southeast of Heidelberg. It is not designed for tourism, but offers some buildings and facilities that are worth seeing.

Eschelbronn is a municipality in the Schwarzbachtal. The place is widely known as Carpenter villageeven if not as much furniture is manufactured and sold here today as it was a few decades ago. The carpenters' shops located in Eschelbronn and their products still have a good reputation.

The next major airport is in Frankfurt, the City Airport in Mannheim only plays a subordinate role.

By train

The 1 Eschelbronn train station is on the railway line MeckesheimAglasterhausen, this runs on the northern edge of the village parallel to the Schwarzbach and the L 549. During the day, trains run every half hour on the line P 51 of the RheinNeckar S-Bahn. There are also direct connections to Heidelberg and Mannheim.

By bus

The company PalatinaBus connects the community via the three bus routes 782, 795 and 796 with the bus network Sinsheim and the surrounding area. There are six bus stops for school, New Apostolic Church, post office, train station, Seerain and Industriestrasse.[1]

The L 549 comes from Waibstadt and goes direction Meckesheim to B45. It is located near the federal motorway 6 between the Rauenberg and Sinsheim driveways.

On foot

The leads through Eschelbronn Main-Stromberg-Weg, a 171.5-kilometer long-distance hiking trail that leads from Hesse to Baden-Württemberg. It connects the community with the surrounding towns of Mönchzell and Daisbach.[2]

Old school and local history museum

  • 1  Carpentry and local history museum. The museum is housed in the old school building, which is itself a building worth seeing. For opening times, see website and by appointment. Free entry, donations welcome. The history of the carpentry trade and the life of the population in the region at that time is shown in great detail in old school house; However, the museum is only open a few days a year.   • 2  Sellemols-Agger. Open-air museum with agricultural equipment, freely accessible to the public. For non-locals: Sellemos = then, Agger = field; a small open-air exhibition showing historical agricultural implements. The Sellemols-Agger is located right next to the community cemetery where the War memorial can be seen in memory of the Franco-German War and its participants and victims.

It is the oldest surviving building in the municipality and is a typical half-timbered house of its time. On a walk through the elevated nature reserve and Kallenberg with the 5 Kallenbergsee a view opens up over the municipality located in the north Baden hilly landscape. A trim yourself path is available there for physical activity.

In Eschelbronn there are three hiking car parks for a total of six hiking trails in the Neckartal-Odenwald nature park. The hiking car park Kallenberg is the starting point for the four-kilometer-long Hetzenloch-Weg, the Lohbrunnen hiking car park for the Bußloch-Weg (length: 2.9 kilometers) and the sports hall hiking car park for the Neurott-Weg (length: 3.3 kilometers), the Weisseberg-Weg ( Length: 3.8 kilometers), the Kuhloch-Weg (length: 4.8 kilometers) and the Schloss-Weg, which leads from Neidenstein Castle via Eschelbronn to Mönchzell and is the only one of the six hiking trails that is not a circular trail. (Length: 4.7 kilometers).[3]

At the foot of the Kallenberg at the train station there is a chestnut avenue designated as a natural monument with several old trees. Following the Kastanienallee out of town, the Bettweg leads along the Schwarzbach to old linden tree, which is also subject to nature conservation as a special tree specimen and serves as a resting place.

There are public playgrounds on Ringstrasse, Durstbüttenstrasse, on Seerain and at the Schlosswiesenschule. There is a sandpit with a swing on the corner of Ambelwiesenstrasse and Siedlerstrasse. Outside the settlement area there is another playground on the White Mountain, with a scenic view.

The "Fuchsbau"

In the Geisloch district, the small cave "Fuchsbau" can be explored, which can be reached via a small climbing path. You can find the cave if you follow Friedhofstraße out of town on a dirt road on the right-hand side.
