Meckesheim is located on the Elsenz on the northern edge of the Kraichgau Little Odenwald. The place was mentioned for the first time in 822 in the Lorsch Codex and has belonged to it since 1330 Electoral Palatinate and came to Baden after its dissolution in 1803. 1973 became the eastern neighbor Mönchzell incorporated.

The neighboring towns Wall, Wiesenbach, Lobbach, Spechbach, Eschelbronn, Zuzenhausen, Dielheim and Wiesloch are all in the Rhein-Neckar district.

The airport Frankfurt is approx. 100 km away and easily accessible by train.

By train

The 1 Meckesheim train station is on the Elsenzbahn route, it comes from Heidelberg and goes over Sinsheim to Heilbronn. Coming from Heidelberg regional trains and regional express trains or S-Bahn trains of the stop VRNS 5 (Final destination Eppingen) as P 51 (Final destination Aglasterhausen).
