Neckargemünd is a cozy little town at the gates Heidelbergs. The Dilsberg mountain festival, which belongs to the city, is particularly interesting.

The old town of Neckargemünd is located at the confluence of the Elsenz in the Neckar on the left side of the river. The town of Neckargemünd includes Kleingemünd on the opposite side and the towns of Dilsberg, Mückenloch and Waldhilsbach.

- Tip: If you want to hike up to the mountain festivals, it is best to start your tour from Neckarsteinach. From Neckarsteinach train station, one of the hiking trails leads to the red square up to the mountain fortress. The route runs over the barrage into the collision slope of the Neckar. Here it goes up the wooded slope in bends (approx. 3/4 hour to 1 hour walking time for approx. 2.5 km easy route with 200 meters of altitude).
