Eberbach is a city in Odenwald on the Neckar in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

background

The city of Eberbach was founded in the 13th century on the right bank of the Neckar. She lies in Baden-Wuerttemberg on the border to Hesse. Since the municipal reform in 1971-1975, it has included the districts of Brombach, Friedrichsdorf, Igelsbach, Lindach, Rockenau, Gaimühle, Neckarwimmersbach and Schöllenbach as well as a number of other courtyards and residential areas.

Neighboring places are Mudau, Waldbrunn (Odenwald) and Schönbrunn (Baden) as well as the Hessian places Staghorn, Rothenberg, Sensbach valley, Beerfelden and Hesseck. The demarcation appears to be quite arbitrary and sometimes runs through the middle of a town. The small town of Brombach is a special case; it is an enclave surrounded by Hirschhorn and Rothenberg.
