The old town of Hirschhorn is located on the right bank of the Neckar. Opposite it is the Ersbach district on a bend in the river; it is the only Hessian town south of the Neckar. Other districts are Igelsbach and Langenthal.
Hirschhorn borders on the Hessian communities Neckarsteinach and Rothenberg as well as the community-free area Michelbuch. Neighboring locations in Baden-Wuerttemberg are Heddesbach, Schönau, Schönbrunn and Eberbach

- Old town with half-timbered houses - The main street is a cozy pedestrian zone with half-timbered houses. Worth seeing are among others. the half-timbered houses at Klostergasse 9-13. By the way, the city coat of arms can be found at the western entrance of the pedestrian zone.
- city wall - The old town has relatively well-preserved city fortifications. At the Fischertor are high water marks to find. In 1651 the Neckar even penetrated the city through the wall gaps. The Middle gate from 1391 now serves as the church tower of the market church. In the wall towards the Neckar are found Wall houses. They were built due to a lack of space.
- 1 Hirschhorn Castle - The part of the castle is used as a hotel. From the castle you have a beautiful view of the Neckar

- 4 Carmelite monastery with Gothic church - The monastery church has a remarkable high altar from 1765. Today the monastery is catholic. Parish center.
- 5 Ersheim Chapel, Friedhofskirche St. Nazarius and Celsus, mentioned for the first time in 1345. The building has a late Gothic choir from 1517. The bell tower was demolished at the beginning of the 16th century. The building is located in the Ersheim district on the Neckar loop (approx. 2 km from the old town).
