An ultra-modern 8-seater gondola lift went into operation on December 1st, 2007 on Ettelsberg. The gondola lift replaced the old double chairlift, which started its service on Ettelsberg in 1971 (at that time it could carry a maximum of 800 people per hour). The new, 1370 m long ropeway overcomes 240 meters in altitude. Up to 2400 people per hour and direction could be transported in 47 gondolas. From December 2011 8 new gondolas were added (capacity since then 2800 people per hour and direction). The gondolas accessible at ground level mean that wheelchairs, strollers or even mountain bikes can be transported without any problems. The gondolas are disengaged at the mountain and valley stations so that it is easy to get on and off.
- Opening hours: The lift is in operation every day (with the exception of the four-week revision, which is usually in November) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attention: in December and January, due to the early onset of darkness, the route only runs until 4.30 p.m. The lift starts at 8 a.m. when the ski is in operation (check the current displays at the mountain and valley stations). The travel time when skiing is usually only about 4 minutes and 40 seconds. In the summer months, the train runs slower so that you can enjoy the view.
- Fares: Adults: ascent or descent € 7.0 (discount with the Willingen tourist card), ascent and descent: € 9.50; Children (6-15 years): ascent or descent: € 5.50, ascent and descent: € 6.50; all prices including one entry to the Hochheideturm; Bicycle or dog per single trip: € 2.00; Contact: Tel .: 05632-969820, www.ettelsberg-seilbahn.de.
