Willingen im Upland is a well-known resort in Hesse Rothaar Mountains. Willingen uses the term in tourism marketing Willingen (Sauerland). In winter you will find Hesse's largest and most modern ski area here. As a result, Willingen attracts many Dutch and Danish guests, especially in the cold season. Ettelsberg
- Willingen's local mountain, 839 m high 1 Ettelsberg

From the air: Ettelsberg with Mühlenkopfschanze in the foreground

Hiking tip: From Ettelsberg to Hochheide on Clemensberg
From the mountain station of the gondola to the Ettelsberg you can hike on a slightly hilly high path to the nature reserve "Neuer Hagen". From Clemensberg you have a nice view to the south Winterberg with the Bare branches. The artificial viewing hill with a summit cross (with summit book) and benches is on the edge of a quarry. But if you want, you can use the Hochheidehütte stop in. This is about 500 m north of the lookout point. Incidentally, the Hochheide has been placed under protection in the nature reserve. Easy route: approx. 4.5 km on paths suitable for pushchairs.
