  • Grafrath Monastery
    St. Rasso: nave
According to legend, the monastery was used as a monastery as in the "becoming" of St. Rasso (one of the counts of Andechs) was founded in 954, but due to some discrepancies this is still being discussed by science. The saint was buried in the church, but the monastery was soon closed, the reliquary treasure donated by the saint came to Andechs, the monastery foundation succeeded Dießen am Ammersee.

Towards the end of the 14th, the saint's grave became increasingly a pilgrimage destination, and the grave chapel expanded.

The first monastery buildings were built in 1677/78, the building of today's pilgrimage church St.Rasso, in the years 1688 to 1694. The rococo furnishings of the pilgrimage church were created in 1752 by Wessobrunn masters.
