Landsberg am Lech is a city in Upper Bavaria and because of its well-preserved medieval town center it is also called "Upper Bavarian." Rothenburg ob der Tauber" called.

The city's oldest origins are in the settlement "Phetinea", which was mentioned in a document in 1135. In 1158, Duke Heinrich the Lion built the "Castrum Landespurch" castle to protect a new bridge over the Lech. City rights of the settlement "Landesperch" then in the 13th century.
