Landsberg am Lech is a city in Upper Bavaria and because of its well-preserved medieval town center it is also called "Upper Bavarian." Rothenburg ob der Tauber" called.

The city's oldest origins are in the settlement "Phetinea", which was mentioned in a document in 1135. In 1158, Duke Heinrich the Lion built the "Castrum Landespurch" castle to protect a new bridge over the Lech. City rights of the settlement "Landesperch" then in the 13th century. From 1320 the city was allowed to raise salt tariffs, the basis for continued prosperity in the centuries to come.

Festivals
